====== Matthew's Physics Projects ====== ---- ===== Introduction ===== I am studying jet performance, particularly for the Higgs to diphoton analyses. * Which jet reconstruction algorithm (AntiKt4EMTopo/PFlow) is best suited for our samples? * In whcih situations do the jet energy scale and resolution performance suffer? Can they be improved? ===== Work setup ===== The work-in-progress code is called HGamJetStudy, a RootCore package for two studies: - ''MCJES'' : Monte-Carlo based jet energy scale & resolution for general samples. - ''JetDiphotonScale'' : (new) Look at "response" of jet to diphoton in Higgs samples. The outputs are used to give us results (pretty plots): - ''MCJES -> plotJES'': JES results - ''MCJES -> plotJER'': JER results - ''JetDiphotonScale -> ???'': (to be done) Full code and instructions are hosted on GitLab: https://gitlab.cern.ch/tapark/HGamJetStudy My working direcctory is setup on CERN AFS: <code> /afs/cern.ch/work/t/tapark/public/AnalysisBase-2.4.28 </code> (to be moved to EOS in the future) \\ ===== Some Presentations ===== * ATLAS Canada Summer Students' Talk (Aug 11th, 2016): Optimizing Pileup Jet Supporession for H -> yy Analyses. https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/18cwwclllJq2lbPm1pB3beIz9o-kAQJxBqRhz4nyaNX8/edit?usp=sharing * Hadronic Calibration Workshop 2016 (Sept. 18th, 2016): Particle Flow Jets for Pileup Suppression in Higgs Analyses. https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1PXDDieM7r8S2z49myTZDzWsx9TAwk5qil5so3wLcHZ0/edit?usp=sharing
